Second quarter construction statistics are featured in this issue
We feature the second quarter building statistics in this issue. Construction statistics for new single family homes is up for the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same time period last year, for a total of 203 permits compared to 170 last year, an increase of 19%. The biggest trend during the first half of this year shows 44 permits being issued for secondary suites and/or carriage homes as compared to 19 during the same time period last year. We expect to see this trend continue to rise, due to the high cost of purchasing a lot and building a new home.
