The price of the benchmark construction framing dimension Western Spruce-Pine-Fir 2×4 #2&Btr fell from US$960 mfbm (end of September) to US$580 mfbm (November 6). In September 2015 the low was US$249 mfbm. The last high was in June 2018, when the price was US$622 mfbm.

(more…)Comparing the year to date building permit values for the Comox Valley and Campbell River, 2020 now boasts an increase of 23.21% over 2019. The total permit values so far this year are $272.1 million.
(more…)According to the BC Housing New Home Registry statistics for Alberni-Clayoquot to North Island and Powell River, the number of newly registered homes and multi-units from January to August 2020 vs 2019 has decreased by 14% (836 vs 875 units).

Forty Three projects were up for the event this year, which celebrates the best in commercial, community and industrial buildings north of the Malahat, completed in 2019.
