Compared to 2019, the 2020 year to date construction values for the Comox Valley and Campbell River increased by 17.46% ($24.8 million). That increase is driven by large commercial projects in Courtenay.

(more…)In the Comox Valley, single family house sales in June were up 293% compared to May. Sales were up 56% this June compared to June 2019, with a 16% increase in the average price to $627,920 on 96 sales. In Campbell River, June sales were up 240% compared to May.
(more…)Last month, the provincial government appointed Ravi Kahlon, Parliamentary Secretary for Forests and Natural Resource Operations, to lead the expansion of mass timber in B.C. buildings. “Mass timber is key to diversifying and creating a more resilient forest sector,” said Kahlon.
