Goals and objectives have been set for the regional district’s sewer service liquid waste management plan (LWMP) for Comox and Courtenay. Two information sessions will be held at the end of January to update the public, introduce the options and collect preliminary comments. The public is invited to come to an open house to review the information and chat with the project team.
The Numbers Are In…
For Comox Valley and Campbell River, the trends for the Zone Totals for 2018 (sales across all market sectors) are remarkably similar. For the Comox Valley, the total sales of $783 Million was down 2% from last year, but reflecting a 10% increase in the average price. The Campbell River market was off 6% to $346 Million, with a 17% increase in the average price. For the month of December alone, sales in the Comox Valley were off 38% to $31 Million, while sales in Campbell River were off 31% to $13 Million.
(more…)According to the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board’s (VIREB) November Statistics, sales of single-family homes from Duncan to Port Hardy were down 28 per cent from November 2017 and 21 per cent from October 2018. Despite lower demand, however, year-over-year prices of single-family homes continue to rise in most VIREB communities. (more…)

The new BC Building Codes including Fire and Plumbing came into effective December 10.
All building permits received in the City of Campbell River before December 10 will be assessed under the previous requirements; anything onward will be under the revised code. It’s expected that all municipalities are following these same guidelines. If you have a current building permit, check with your municipality for updates. (more…)
