Riverside Senior Living, a new independent living community in Downtown Courtenay, has focused on creating a safe, friendly and affordable place for independent seniors to call home. The design choices throughout the facility and in the individual suites have been made with the safety and security of their residents in mind.
Many carefully considered features have been added to ensure that residents are safe and secure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There were 812 single-family homes for sale in February compared to 749 in January and 947 one year ago in the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) region (north of the Malahat). The supply of apartments and townhouses also rose slightly from 2017, up three per cent and five per cent, respectively. These modest inventory increases are welcome, but since new listings are snapped up so quickly, this additional supply will not move the VIREB market out of sellers’ territory. (more…)
Construction activity on Vancouver Island remained robust during the fourth quarter of 2017. While there were normal seasonal declines in building permits issued during the fourth quarter, several new major projects where started. Employment in the industry rose by 11 percent in the fourth quarter with most of the gain outside the Victoria metropolitan area. (more…)
Kensington/Union Bay Properties is hoping to make a subdivision application to the Ministry of Transportation and Highways and the Comox Valley Regional District within the next week or two for Phase I of the project now known as Union Bay Estates. The first phase will include 30 lots for single-family homes, and 9 of the homes are zoned to accommodate a carriage or laneway style of second dwelling. A three storey building is also planned to begin with the Phase 1 construction.This building will house the developer’s offices as well as offices for other tenants. (more…)
