Building and Safety Standards Branch of BC Issues NAFS Clarification Bulletin
A new North American Fenestration Standards (NAFS) bulletin has just been issued to provide clarification on the wording of requirements relating to windows, doors, and skylights installed in part 9 buildings, which must conform to the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS). These standards are outlined in Technical Bulletin B13-06. Local building inspectors have told Building Links that windows, doors, and all types of skylights must have the new label attached to each product installed for inspection as of December 20, 2013. The label must include the following:
- manufacturer’s name;
- class of window;
- standard;
- performance grade; and
- size tested.
