New Hotel in Campbell River Awaits Building Permit Approval
The building permit has been submitted for the new hotel project that will be located at 1357 Shoppers Row in Campbell River, just north of Tyee Plaza, with an estimated project cost of $6.6 million. The general contractor, Titan Construction, is seeking sub-trade pricing on everything except painting, flooring, millwork, and wood framing; see our tender section for more information. The new four-storey hotel will contain 55 rooms, along with an indoor pool, sauna, exercise room, breakfast room, and meeting facilities. The building will be approximately 35,000 square feet in size and will be built with ocean-facing rooms.
BC Hydro Extends Closing Date on Bids for Work On Buckley Bay and South Wellington Electricity Substations
BC Hydro has extended its closing date for Civil, Electrical, Protection, and Control and Distribution Construction for the Buckley Bay and South Wellington electricity substations. The bids will be reviewed, and the contractor is expected to be chosen in October of this year.
Coulson Group of Companies Starts Renovations on Former Port Alberni Zellers Store
The Coulson Group of Companies has purchased the former Port Alberni Zellers store and took possession in August. They’ve started renovations on the 10,000 square-foot building, as they have leased out the premises. Once the small building is completed, the company will begin renovations on the larger 90,000 square-foot building.
