Building Permit Issued for Renovation of Comox Valley Curling Club
A building permit in the amount of $1.9 million has been issued for the upgrade to the Comox Valley Curling Club.  The CVRD board of directors gained electoral approval in June of 2014 via an alternative approval process to borrow $1.9 million for the renovation. Kinetic Construction Ltd. was awarded the tender for construction in March of this year, and will provide seismic upgrades, new exterior cladding, new arena floor slab, new mechanical, electrical and a new refrigeration system. It is expected that the project will be completed in time for the fall 2015 curling season.
New Commercial/Residential Building on Island Highway in Campbell River
A building permit has been issued this week in the amount of $650,000 for a new two-storey commercial/residential building located at 1054 Island Highway in Campbell River. The design includes two residences above street level and retail/commercial space on the main floor. The size of this building is proposed to be approximately 335 sq. metres.
Port Alberni Issues Tender for Painting of Train Station
The City of Port Alberni is inviting tenders from qualified contractors for the painting of the exterior of the Train Station in the City of Port Alberni. Contractors interested in submitting a bid on the project must attend a mandatory site visit at the Train Station, 3100 Kingsway Avenue, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 starting at 9:00AM.
