2015 Off to Great Start in Construction
This is our first issue of 2015, and we and have details on 22 new building permits for new homes, totaling approximately $5 million in construction values for the residential sector.
Four Hospice Beds Under Construction at St. Joseph’s in Comox
Construction is about to start on a four-bed hospice space at The Views residential care facility at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Comox, which is expected to open by mid-2015. A building permit has been issued in the amount of $500,000 for this project.
VIHA Building New Community Care Beds, Requesting Tenders for Power Upgrades
VIHA has made an announcement that they have awarded a contract in Campbell River to Park Place Seniors to construct a $9 million addition to the building to accommodate 40 new community-based care beds. VIHA has also issued a tender for hospitals in Tofino, Port Hardy and Port McNeill requesting bids for power upgrades to all three facilities. See our tender section in this issue.
