Steelhead LNG Corp. and the Huu-ay-aht First Nations (HFN) have signed an Opportunity Development Agreement that will see them work together to explore developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project on HFN-owned land at Sarita Bay, approximately 10 kms north of Anacla at the southern end of Alberni Inlet. The project, which would include a land-based facility, could ultimately represent an investment of $30 billion over the next 25 years.
A building permit has been issued this week in the amount of $2,149,039 for the excavation of the Comox Valley Hospital Site. The building permit is in the name of Graham Design Builders of Kelowna. Work at the Courtenay site near Lerwick and Ryan Roads will include the beginnings of on-site access road construction and excavation of the hospital footprint.
