$30 million Campbell River Substation Upgrade Project slated for completion in March 2018
BC Hydro continues to make good progress on the Campbell River Substation Upgrade Project, which began in spring 2016 and will continue through to March 2018 with a third transformer coming into service. This project is estimated to cost over $30 million and is intended to provide increased capacity to support regional growth.
Approval pending for decommissioning of 60-year-old dam on the Salmon River
BC Hydro has been able to maintain the BC Utilities Commission regulatory schedule and is hoping for approval on June 15 to proceed with removal of a 60-year-old dam on the Salmon River. If approved, work will begin July 1. In early 2017, BC Hydro developed a cost estimate to decommission the Salmon River diversion facility at $14-15 million.
Comox Valley Regional District hold open house on June 15 for new Indoor Recreation Facilities Master Plan
Join the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) on Thursday, June 15 to take part in a discussion on the draft Indoor Recreation Facilities Master Plan. The event takes place from 4 pm to 7 pm at the CVRD board room, located at 550B Comox Road in Courtenay. A 30-minute presentation will start at 4:15 pm and the same presentation will be repeated at 5:45 pm, followed by questions and discussion.
