Five Contractors Short Listed for Comox Municipal Works Yard Upgrade Project: Tender Expected in the Next Few Weeks

The Town of Comox has elected to short list the following contractors for the Comox Municipal Works Yard upgrade project:
- BC Metalspan;
- C&W Campbell;
- Ferro;
- Loadpath; and
- Vancouver Island Steel Buildings.
A tender is expected to be issued in the next few weeks. The scope of work will address on-site water, sanitary, storm, electrical, and paving services. The budget for the new Comox Municipal Works Yard located at 1390 Guthrie Road is approximately $4.9 million.

Final approval has been given by Courtenay council to allow for a multi-residential project to proceed. Two identical four-storey buildings are proposed, each containing 47 units, for a total of 94 units. Crowne Pacific Development Corporation is the developer for this project.

The tender for Phase 2 of the sanitary sewer and water system installation at Pacific Rim National Park Reserve has been awarded to IWC Excavation Ltd. in the amount of $3,232,682. This project will include general construction for the supply and installation of new sanitary pump stations and miscellaneous works for the Tofino region.
