North Island Hospitals Project Puts Out Call for Public-Patient Advisory Committee
Are you committed to the health and well being of your community? Are you interested in helping the North Island Hospitals Project (NIHP) in making the new Comox Valley and Campbell River hospitals more accessible? Considering volunteering for the NIHP Public-Patient Advisory Committee.
NIHP is seeking 10 to 16 volunteers from a variety of backgrounds to provide input on key public and patient areas of the new hospitals. Members will help gather community and patient perspectives on the new hospitals.
The first committee meeting will be in October, and it is expected the committee will meet monthly or bi-monthly, depending on the project schedule, for the duration of the project. Video and/or teleconferencing will be available for all meetings.

The $606.2 million North Island Hospitals Project includes a new $331.7 million, 153-bed Comox Valley Hospital in Courtenay on Lerwick Road near Ryan Road, and a new $274.5 million, 95-bed Campbell River Hospital on the existing hospital site at 375 – 2nd Avenue. Both hospitals are scheduled for completion by late 2017.
