Open Houses for the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project in Around Town
Your Weekly Construction Briefing
Significant sewer system upgrades along some of the Comox Valley’s busiest roads will start in 2023 for 18 to 24 months. Information about traffic and construction impacts will be shared at a series of events this November.
Construction will affect all residents and businesses along Comox Road and through downtown Comox, and is key to protecting the coastline and preparing the future growth.
The Sewer Conveyance Project will replace the pipes and upgrade the pump stations that move more than 14,000 cubic metres of raw sewage each day to the Comox Valley Water Pollution Control Centre on Brent Road. This new system will route sewer pipes further inland where they will no longer be vulnerable to damage by waves, rocks and logs.
