Some of you may know Pat McKenna from his tenure working in the construction industry before taking on the position of executive director at the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North (Habitat VIN). He has been at the helm of that organization for the past six years.

Executive Direct of Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North will be returning to his home town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The search is on for a new Executive Director.

Out of the 39 homes that have been built since its founding in 2004, 25 were completed during his tenure. During his tenure as the executive director, Habitat VIN received numerous awards and in 2020, McKenna received the Community Builder Award at the Comox Valley Local Hero Awards.

Pat is moving back to his hometown of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. While Pat’s official date of resignation is July 8, he has agreed to remain with Habitat VIN until a successor is found. The Board of Directors is launching an extensive search for a new Executive Director.
