Planning for the Sale of Your Business
Succession planning is something every business owner needs to do, but not every business owner has the information they need to leave their business on their own terms. Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) wants to help with that. Next Tuesday October 7th, as part of the Business Smart lunch series, VICA will host a succession planning session led by Doug Tyce of MNP LLP.
Tyce’s will speak about how to build your construction business to maximize its value, minimize taxes and prepare for its eventual sale or transfer. Topics will include: understanding your exit options; structuring your business as an investment; minimizing your tax exposure; ways to effectively increase the value of your business; packaging your business for sale; and estimating time for planning  and preparation.
Tyce has more than 20 years of experience providing accounting, tax and business management advice to private enterprises and family-owned businesses in the construction and real estate sector. He works works extensively with business owners in areas such as tax planning regarding incorporation, income splitting, succession planning, the purchase and sale of businesses and estate planning.
