Retire in Comox in Around Town
According to the Western Investor magazine, three of the top five retirement towns in BC are on Vancouver Island. One of those towns is Comox.
The other two Island towns profiled are Sidney with 41% of the population as senior and Qualicum Beach with 50% of the population as senior. According to the article, 15 per cent of Canadians in other provinces want to move to these areas, including Sechelt and Summerland, as they start their retirement.
In the Comox Valley, seniors make up 26% of the population and that percentage is expected to grow as new construction activity focused on seniors retirement facilities, apartments and condos are ramping up to serve this demographic.
