Comparing the year to date building permit values for the Comox Valley and Campbell River, 2020 now boasts an increase of 23.21% over 2019. The total permit values so far this year are $272.1 million.

Residential permit values recorded a 1% decline from 2019 to 2020, and the total number of single family and secondary suite builds have reduced by 9.5% (34 units).

Overall, new builds on single family units continue to increase in Campbell River and Cumberland (10% and 74%), while Comox, Courtenay and the Comox Valley Regional District have declined between 9 to 38%.
