Courtenay: Approvals proceeding for a 93 unit, four-storey Holiday Inn Express Hotel.

Courtenay Council has given first and second reading to a rezoning application for a 93 unit, four-storey Holiday Inn Express Hotel. If approved, the hotel will be a four-storey wood-frame building with an indoor swimming pool, fitness facility and a multi-purpose meeting room (containing approximately 100 seats), a breakfast bar, 12 bike stalls, and 97 parking stalls with 10 electric vehicle stalls.

Campbell River: Tender issued for a Prime Consultant for a $33.1 million Aquatic Centre upgrade.

Strathcona Regional District is seeking a Prime Consultant for a $33.1 million upgrade to the Aquatic Centre in Campbell River. The project is expected to include the design and construction of a 3412 m2 aquatic centre addition and 2800m2 renovation. If funding is approved, construction tender documents could be released early 2022.

Tofino: First reading approved for 24 single family lots and a 50-unit apartment building. 

Tofino council has approved first reading for 24 single family lots and a four storey 50-unit apartment building located approx. 1.5 km south of the town. The single family lots would be zoned to permit a single family dwelling with a secondary suite.
