Courtenay: December public hearings for a 30 unit residential/commercial condo and a 137 unit rental project.
The City of Courtenay has scheduled two public hearings in December. The first hearing is for a 30 unit residential/ commercial condo project. As proposed the project includes four floors of condos, ranging in size from 785 sq.ft. one bedroom plus den, 900 sq.ft. two bedrooms, and 1,819 sq.ft. two bedrooms plus den. The second hearing is for a 137 unit rental project with two apartment buildings, 28 townhomes, a 72 unit apartment rental building with a mix of two and three bedrooms, and a 37 unit below-market rental building with a mix of one, two and three bedroom units.Â
Campbell River: Rezoning application submitted for a five storey, 70 unit rental building.Â
WestUrban Developments has submitted a rezoning application for a five storey, 70 unit rental building on the Island Highway in Campbell River. The 70 units in the building are proposed to include nine three bedrooms, 29 two bedrooms, 21 one bedrooms, and 11 bachelor suites.
Hornby Island: DP approved for 15 residential units and a new building for the Thatch Pub.
A development permit has been approved for 15 residential units and a new building for the Thatch Pub on Hornby Island. The residential units will be built in pods of four-plexes and one tri-plex. The new building for the pub will be 2,000 sq. ft. in size. Construction is expected to be underway in January.
