Courtenay: Building Permits issued for new 94-unit multi-family project.
Courtenay has issued three building permits with a total value of $10.6 million for a 94-unit multi-family project near the Hospital and College. As proposed, the project includes two buildings each with 47 units with a range of one bedroom (32 units), two bedrooms (46 units) and three bedroom (16 units) suites.
Powell River: $76 million Consolidated Wastewater Treatment Plant continues to move forward.
Powell River has approved a development permit for construction of the $76 million Consolidated Wastewater Treatment Plant. Equipment contracts necessary to complete design were approved in December. Design of the plant is being completed on the equipment specifications. Once design is complete, the project will go to tender.
Comox Valley and Campbell River: Year End Building Permit Statistics increased by 27.9 per cent to $385.6 million.
This week’s issue includes the 2020 Building Permit Statistics for the Comox Valley and Campbell River regions. Total permit values have increased by 27.9 per cent to $385.6 million. That increase has been driven by several multi unit projects with over 600 units. Single family construction continues to be dependant on available lots. There are several large single family and multi unit projects under varies stages of development, with the majority of multi family buildings designated for the rental market.
