B.C. has ended updates to its Major Projects Inventory, a government database that tracked large construction and development projects across the province. The inventory provided industry with information on the construction pipeline and upcoming opportunities.
Industry organizations say the loss of the data will make business planning more difficult. The data was widely used to help determine future staffing needs and making decisions about employment, investment and training.The decision comes amid broader transparency concerns, with several construction and real estate organizations calling for public access to the BC Government Directory to be restored.
