Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) has released its June Housing Starts report, showing mixed housing activity in Nanaimo and Victoria.
Nanaimo’s housing starts increased from 54 units in June 2025 to 111 units in June 2026, while Victoria’s declined from 960 units to 83 units.
Despite the decline, construction remains strong, with approximately 9,015 units under construction in Victoria and 1,153 units in Nanaimo.
